Pelea entre Jack Johnson y Frank Moran en el año 1914.
Es un muy buen film para la época. Está filmada en interiores y con luz artificial con una sola cámara.
Frank Moran was a heavyweight contender best known for his title fights with champions Jack Johnson (Paris, 1914) and Jess Willard (New York, 1916). Moran's record is not impressive, but at the peak of his skills he was a rough aggressive fighter with brutal overhand right he called "Mary Ann". A former football player, and dentist from Pittsburgh, Moran's style suggests a bridge between the slower stand-up styles of the old school fighters and the modern fast paced boxers to follow, beginning a few years later with Jack Dempsey. Moran gave Jack Johnson a competitive 20 round fight, but Frank was too clumsy to break through Johnson's defenses. Against Jess Willard in 1916, Moran tried again, but Jess, whose stance reminds me very much of Vitali Klitschko, was strong and not only fought well defensively, but this film shows Willard was also effective on the infighting.
The Johnson-Moran movie is good for the period, filmed indoors under artificial lighting, though with only one camera. --Rotoscope
