Este es un típico film de chicos saliendo de la escuela. Lo único que cambia es el tipo de vestimenta que usaban. Se verán adolescentes haciendo gestos frente a la cámara (como suele pasar aún hoy... agrego yo)
La información acerca del film es escasa. Podría ser de comienzos de 1914, pero (dice quien comenta) no soy experto en el tipo de ropas que se usaban en esa época.
Pero eso no es lo que captó la atención de ésta persona, sino el hecho de que cree ver un reflejo en una ventana del porch "que no debería estar allí".
Dice haber visto el film docenas de veces pero no encuentra una respuesta para lo que se ve. Tedd (no sé quién es) dice que puede ser un problema durante el procesamiento del film.
Ahora se encuentran en un impasse al respecto. Hay algo allí, pero no saben decir qué puede ser. ¿Un fantasma? ¿Mala película? ¿Un gato? ¿ Un papel volando?
Es difícil encontrar algo en estos viejos films por la acción propia del tiempo.
El film está en de la colección American Memory y está bajo el rubro Schools, con el título de "End of School Day at Coeducational School" (Final del día en la Escuela Coeducacional)

En fin, aparentemente esta persona que dejó este comentario es de aquellos que buscan determinados fenómenos que pueden darse fuera del alcance de los sentidos humanos y que una cámara podría llegar a captar. Al márgen de si es así o no... el film tiene por sí sólo un gran valor documental, por más que sólo sea una escena de escolares saliendo del colegio y yendo hacia sus casas.

This is a typical film of kids let out of school, and amusingly, the only thing that really has changed is the clothing. You'll see the teens plotting to get in front of the camera, those that just want to get on home.
This was taken at a coeducational high school, but information on the film itself is sketchy. It might be an Edison actuality, it might be from 1914, it might be from PA. I think it's a little earlier than 1914, myself, but I'm no expert in the clothing styles.
But that wasn't what caught my attention about this film. On the porch, there is a window. On or in the window, there is a reflection which really shouldn't be there.
I've run over this film dozens of times, and I don't have an answer for the flickering light. Tedd watched the film several times, and thinks it is just a problem with the film process.
So we're at an impasse. There is something there in that film, but we can't tell what it is.
Ghost? Bad film? Cat? Errant piece of paper?
It's very difficult to find things like orbs, threads, mists, and the like in old film simply because of the age of the film and the likelihood of dust and damage, but this one may be the exception.
Or it could be a problem in processes.
The film is in the American Memory collection under "Schools", and is called "End of School Day at Coeducational School".
The music is called "Gentle Soul", taken from an opera we wrote around Dr. Caligari. This is a rough acoustic cut, which I thought fit here.
Because if the flickering light in the film isn't a cat, a paper, bad film, then it does seem to be some benign presence watching over the kids as they head for home.
